Parents divorced when I was 13 - Mom went back to work. Felt her absence and knew that I didn't want that for my kids.
ReplyDeleteThe vocation of motherhood is so important because it influences the child's whole future. If your child is raised in a way to insure that they learn how to live a saintly life to get to heaven then they have the tools for a happy successful life!
ReplyDeleteThe mother is the heart of the family, from her the children derive their self worth as a child of God and their sense of duty to build up the Kingdom of God.
ReplyDeleteMy mother was not a loving, warm and supportive woman. She was very demanding and nothing I ever did was good enough. Consequently, you can imagine what this does to the formation of a personality.
ReplyDeleteA mother should be everything the word suggests...and more. It is important that a child is raised knowing that he/she is genuinely loved. Encouragement is important too.
Donna-Marie, please do not enter me in your contest. I just wanted to throw my two cents' worth in your comment section. :)
God bless you and all mothers. May Our Lady, THE Queen of ALL Mothers, give you and everyone here special blessings and graces on Mothers' Day!
Motherhood allows you to carry the soul of another human, train it and eventually return the soul to God in His time.
ReplyDeleteThe vocation of motherhood is so important because mothers have been entrusted by God to show HIS children how loving, merciful and compassionate He is!
ReplyDeleteGod created woman for all eternity to be the heart of family life, the nurturer and carer, so that the family will reflect His love.
ReplyDeleteMy mom left when I was about 7 yrs old. Even though I had some contact with her from time to time it was clear she was unstable and just not ment for motherhood. Not having any positive role model to follow I tried to read all I could. I was unable to break the chain of being a bad mom. It breaks my heart to know that my children didn't get the best which is what they deserve. Thank you for writing domestic church and grace cafe. They were both so helpful in changing my heart & mind on an hourly basis during the difficult days. Also for really helping me to see just how wonderful motherhood is

ReplyDeleteWhat greater gift could God have given us? To be able to bring another live into this world. Not a better job in the world than to be a mother!!

Motherhood is a call to imitate Jesus by loving our family unconditionally, unreservedly and heroically. When we reflect God's love in our homes, we empower our family to build up His Kingdom.
ReplyDeleteI really like Jean's comment above. Can I just borrow that one? Motherhood is a gift that has helped me to be more like Jesus, one tiny step at a time.
